ITANAGAR, Mar 21: A three-day cattle immunization program was held at Seijosa by the Pakke Tiger Reserve management in collaboration with the Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) and with technical support of the Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science which concluded on Sunday.
A total of around 1500 livestock were immunized against rabies, haemorrhagic septicemia, black quarter and swine fever.
The vaccination team was led by Dr.Panjit Basumatary, Vety. Surgeon of WTI. DFO, Pakke Tiger Reserve, T Pali appreciated the young Vets for their enthusiasm and professionalism displayed by them in delivering vaccination to livestock owned by the fringe villages residing around the Tiger Reserve.
Appreciating the villagers for their co-operation, the DFO hoped that the immunization would help reduce cattle mortality due to various diseases which directly affects the economy of cattle rearing community.
