ITANAGAR, Jun 16: The Capital Police recovered 15 stolen two-wheelers and arrested a person in connection with case No. Case No. 22/2022 u/s 379 IPC at Chimpu police station.
In a press statement, Police informed that acting on the written FIR received from one P. Amo that her scooter (scooty) was stolen by an unknown person from Statistics Colony, Itanagar, accordingly a case was registered vide Chimpu PS police station.
After a rigorous search in the entire Itanagar Capital region and with the help of reliable source, one habitual suspect Nabam Sakap (20 yrs) of Jote village was apprehended. During interrogation, he disclosed of his involvement in many two-wheelers lifting cases from different locations within the capital and later sold them to buyers at a cheap rate of around Rs. 6000 to Rs. 15000.
Following the disclosure, a police team under the close supervision of SP Capital Jimmy Chiram and SDPO Itanagar, Kamdam Sikom, conducted raid at various locations of Jote Village, Jumi Village, NIT, Kanebung and Inderjuli area on June 13 and 14 last. During the raid, police recovered 14 stolen scooters and a bike.
Meanwhile, SP Capital has appealed the denizen of the Capital Complex to be more cautious while parking their vehicles during night hours and also requested to inform the Police about such anti-social elements immediately by calling at ERSS 112.
