ITANAGAR, Nov 6: A mini marathon was organized by Capital Police to commemorate the celebration of 50 Years of Arunachal Pradesh Police Raising Day, 2022 on Sunday.
A mini marathon of 10 Kms and 5 Kms was organised at Itanagar. The marathon was categoriezd into Open (10 km) & Women's (10 Km) with starting point from Police Station Papu Hills & Veteran's category (5Km) with starting point from Nyedar Namlo, Itanagar to PHQ Itanagar.
IGP (Crime/West) Take Ringu, IPS and IGP (Security) Michi Paku, IPS flagged off the marathon race from PS Papu Hills & Nyedar Namlo respectively. A total of 108 participants took part in the race which comprised of 58 participants in Open category, 34 in Women's category & 16 in Veteran's category.
Hari Chiring, Tapo Durba and Tangu Ngomle won 1st , 2nd & 3rd respectively in the Open category. Yabang Tali, Tunu Gamlun & Metung Techi of Sangey Lhaden Sports Academy won 1st , 2nd & 3rd respectively in the Women's category. Whereas in the Veteran's category H Kalung, O Jonkey & Bamin Lailang of APP won 1st , 2nd & 3rd positions respectively.
Meanwhile, IGP (L&O) Chukhu Apa, IGP (Security) Michi Paku, IPS and IGP (Crime/West) Take Ringu, IPS gave away the prizes to the winners in a small prizes distribution ceremony at PHQ in presence of SP Capital. They encouraged the participants to continue to keep their fitness levels and live healthy lives.
