ITANAGAR, May 18: The capital police on Saturday arrested two alleged drug peddlers and seized heroin worth lakhs of rupees from their possession. Arrestees Sosar Punung (22) and Bengia Rigia (21) are both kin of politicians.
Meanwhile, interacting with the media here at Itanagar Police Station, Capital   SP Tumme Amo said that the youths were arrested from Vivek Vihar and Mowb-II respectively following a tip-off.
“Two large sachets of heroin, 28 small tubes containing heroin,  a mobile phone and sale proceeds of Rs 33,600 were recovered from Punung while similar 43 small tubes, a mobile and  sale proceeds of Rs 27,570 were  recovered from Rigia,” SP added. The market value of the prohibited drug is estimated to be around 4 lakh, SP disclosed.
SP asserted that capital police are putting all out efforts to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
