KALAKTANG, July 3: Capital Police arrested Tsering Rakpa from Boha village and Lobsang Dorjee alias Nima from Ankhaling villages of Kalaktang for supplying Marijuana in the capital region. The duo have been named as the key players in supplying Marijuana in the capital region in the recent massive seizures.
Police arrested them after, the alleged accused husband-wife duo  Tadar Chada and Tadar Kampung from whom cannabis weighing 721 Kg was recovered recently disclosed that the main source was located at Kalaktang in West Kameng.
Following the disclosure, immediately, a team was formed under the leadership of  SDPO-Naharlagun  D Gumja, and SI SS Jha. The 10-member police team left Naharlagun in the evening of July 1 last and reached Kalaktang in the early hours of July 2 last. Upon reaching, local raid was conducted after precision planning by DySP Gumja and the team from Police Station Kalaktang and both Tsering Rakpa and Lobsang Dorjee were arrested.
While arresting Tsering Rakpa from Boha village, the police team also discovered his godown and found 19 bags of suspected ganja ready to be sold to buyers weighing 246.8 kilograms. Immediately, local magistrate ADC Kalaktang Anu Bamin and OC PS Kalaktang T Taloj were informed.
The said seizure along with the complaint was reported to Kalaktang Police and a case vide Kalaktang PS Case No-04/22 u/s 20(b)(ii)(C) NDPS Act has been registered in this regard. The accused were brought to Capital on Saturday and produced before the magistrate.
Capital Police, in FIR no 82/22 u/s 20b(i)C/27a/29NDPS act dated 24/6/22, has till now arrested 6 people in this case including the main peddlers Tadar Chada and his wife Kampung, their accomplices Tadar Mama and Tadar Taksing and the source of the drug seized from Kalaktang namely Tsering Rakpa and Lobsang Dorjee@ Nima.
With these arrests, over 960 Kg of narcotics has been seized in two separate cases in Naharlagun and Kalaktang and taken off the streets by the police team till now, stated the release.
