Itanagar, Oct 21: In view of the Diwali celebration and in compliance with the directions and observations of the Supreme Court of India, the Deputy Commissioner Capital Itanagar Talo Potom has issued an order directing to comply with the directions for peaceful and safe celebration of Diwali within the capital.
The use and sale of fire crackers other than green crackers are prohibited,
the use/sale of fire crackers generating noise level exceeding 125 dB or 145 dB © pk at (4)four-meters distance from the point of bursting is also prohibited, ban on selling of series of crackers or laris.
The order also stated that fire crackers should not be bursted within 100-metre of silence zones, like hospitals, nursing homes, primary & district health care centres, educational institutions, courts, religious places and declared silence zones, near kuttcha houses, road and crowded areas.
However, the DC has permitted only green crackers from 8 pm to 10 pm.
The order also stated that any kind of gambling activity is also strictly prohibited within capital region and warned that the violators of the order would be prosecuted as per law.
