JORAM, July 25: A Capacity Building cum training on community mobilization and role & responsibilities of SMCs/SMDCs programme under the aegis of SAMAGRA Shiksha, involving School Management committees (SMCs) school management and development committees (SMDCs) was held here today at Government Secondary School Joram.
The Community members were enlightened with the roles and responsibilities of SMCs, SMDCs, in the development taking place in government schools of Lower Subansiri district.
Community mobilization is the process of bringing together as many stakeholders as possible to raise parents-teachers, SMCs, SMDCs awareness to assist in the delivery of resources and services delivered by the Government Schools to strengthen SMCs, SMDC's participation for schools affairs of their locality.
The programme was attended by DDSE Lower Subansiri, Tabia Chobin who requested all the stakeholders to come forward and defibrillate the Government schools for the future of children of their locality.
"In an effort to combat teacher absenteeism SMCs & SMDCs have to report him personally to take action as per the laid down guidelines and also stick to academic calendar," DDSE said.
He also made aware about government schemes like MDM programme, free textbooks, free uniform for classes I to VIII, Scholarship schemes for ST, disabled students and National Means cum Merit scholarship (NMMS), Vidhya Scheme, Pre- Primary schools etc.
Speakers of the day long program urged the parents, SMCs, SMDCs to assist and promote the enrollment by invigorating the general public to send their children to Govt. Schools to get quality education by highly qualified teachers and to avail a diamond necklace of facilities.
Speakers from sundry school committees gave their worthwhile suggestions for the welfare of students and heighten of the Government schools education system.
