POMA, Jul 19: A 15-days cane and bamboo jewellery making training programme concluded today here at Poma which was recently inaugurated by Doimukh local MLA Tana Hali Tara and Chayangtajo MLA Hayang Mangfi.
The training was sponsored by North East Cane and Bamboo Development Council, (NECBDC) Byrnihat Guwahati Assam, Under the North East Council (NEC) Ministry of DoNER to promote bamboo and its product in the region.
Textile & Handicraft department Deputy Director, Papum Pare District, Yupia T C Kapa and young entrepreneur Taring Mayu attended the function as special guest on Tuesday which was attended by several local leaders of Poma area. Trainers trained the locals in making of various types of jewelery which are utilized in local festivals and for household decorations.
