NAHARLAGUN, Nov 5: The grieving family of late Techi Meena observed the fourth anniversary of her tragic death today, marking yet another year without justice. Thousands of supporters, including students, women’s welfare organizations, and concerned citizens, joined a solemn candlelight march to honour Meena and her unborn child, demanding justice and an end to the prolonged legal proceedings.
In an emotional statement to the media, Meena's brother, Techi Poul, expressed deep frustration over the four-year delay in achieving justice. "It's been four years, but justice remains elusive," he said. "We have provided all evidence to the court, yet there has been no resolution. We are urging for a fast-track court and capital punishment for those responsible."
Despite the delays, Poul reaffirmed the family's faith in the judiciary and government, expressing hope that justice will prevail. He called on the legal system to expedite the verdict, allowing the family to find closure in the face of this devastating loss.
On November 5, 2020, 36-year-old Techi Meena Lishi, who was seven months pregnant, was found dead in her SUV, which had reportedly plunged halfway down a cliff near the Karsingsa block point. Investigations by the police later suggested that Meena had been murdered by contract killers, allegedly hired by her husband, Lishi Roni.
