ITANAGAR, Mar 7: Deputy Speaker, Legislative Assembly, Tesam Pongte and Kayum Narah, a 13-year-old  battling a rare form of bone cancer were formally conferred with the honorary membership of Arunachal Bullet Club (ABC)on Saturday. ABC is a premier bullet club of the state formed by like-minded group of people to spread love and the message of brotherhood in society through various charitable ridings in the state. 
Pongte and Narah, both now provisional member of ABC, were handed over the membership certificates in a small yet attractive ceremony conducted on Saturday by members or the club.
Members of  Gliding Pirahanas (TGP), Royal Arunachal Rider (RAR), Royal Siang Riders (RSR) were also present during the occasion. Narah is battling “osteosarcoma”, a rare kind of bone cancer diagnosed in 1 out of 10000 children. He was diagonised with the disease in March 2020 and taken to Kolkata for further treatment during peak COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns in June last year.
 After spending a month in Kolkata, on July 25, he returned to the state and started taking chemotherapy treatment and has undergone 7 cycles of treatment so far. Narah was given Honourary Membership by ABC for bravely fighting cancer with a smile on his face since the first day of being diagnosed with the disease.
Meanwhile Pongte was given honorary membership title in recognition of selfless services rendered to society in terms of initiating a movement against drug menace and working rigorously for youth empowerment.
