Singing, Sep 10: The Bugun (Khowa) Society celebrated the 11th Central Pham-Kho Sowai Festival 2023 in Singchung today.
Minister of Youth Affairs, Mama Natung  and Gokar Basar, the local MLA of Basar constituency, graced the event as the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour.
The festival featured various traditional cultural programs that were celebrated with enthusiasm and grandeur. Additionally, outstanding students from the Bugun Society were recognized and honored during the event.
Kumsi Sidisow, MLA cum Advisor to the Minister for Environment, Forest & Climate Change, participated as the Chief Patron of the festival, offering invaluable support and insight.
Pham-Kho Sowai is a popular harvesting festival (Shifting Cultivation) of the Bugun people, now celebrated on a fixed date, i.e., on 10th September every year since 2013.
The event saw the presence of notable individuals such as DC West Kameng Akriti Sagar, SP Sudhansu Dhama, ZPM Rekha Murphew, ZPM Bichom Shanti Lali, Mokar Riba ADC Singchung, along with officers, members of the Bugun Society, the general public, and other distinguished guests. DIPRO
