YUPIA, Jul 16: The body of a B Tech student of the north east regional institute of science and technology (NERIST) was recovered today after five days of intense search.
The body of late Yikar Taki was found near the  Banderdewa bridge on the Dikrong  river this morning after five days of intensive search operation jointly carried out by the locals, NERIST students, well wishers, SDRF and NDRF team.
Late Taki had gone missing on July 12 last while bathing with friends in the Pare river, near the hanging bridge at Chiputa.
This morning the locals, NERIST students, well wishers and family members formed four groups and searched the entire stretch of the river from the incident point till Banderdewa and finally the body was recovered from the Dikrong river at Banderdewa. 
The deceased was said to be a brilliant student and was a pre-final BTech student of NERIST.  Hailing from Mirem village of East Siang district, he was the eldest son of Tanikar  Taki.
