ITANAGAR, May 23: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) mandal of Yachuli Constituency on Wednesday appealed to the Special Investigation Cell (SIC) to investigate illegal appointment/transfer under Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) & Water Supply (WS) case from the angle of ‘vote for job’ scam.
Though the state government has already cancelled the appointments after thorough examination on May 15, however it should be intensively investigated from top to bottom, said Tania Tajing while addressing media persons at the Arunachal Press Club.
Maximum appointees and appointing & transferring authorities belong from Yachuli constituency which was done during the period of assembly election. Thus there is a strong belief that appointments were made to lure the voters, he added.
“It is possible that vote for job scam was initiated in support of NCP candidate to garner votes,” said Tajing, adding that “appointing & transferring authorities is Superintendent of Engineer, PHED & WS, Miao, Joram Badal and Chief Engineering, PHED & WS (Western Zone) Toko Jyoti, who also hold the post of Co-ordination and interestingly Jyoti is the elder brother of NCP candidate Toko Tatung.”
Informing that according to available documents Finance, Planning & Investment department of the state clearly mentioned that no sanction/concurrence was sanctioned for the year 2023-24 against all the appointees, advocate Likha Kom appealed to the investigating agency to initiate custodial interrogation against all the head officers and appointees to unearth the truth.
“Transfer and posting of appointees was issued on March 8, without clearance from the finance department,” said Likha.
Claiming a high ranking officer’s involvement can be examined from evidence, he went on to say, concerned authority of the PHED &WS has also said fresh appointments have been examined and found that appointments were made in violation of the laid down procedures as well as without any sanctioned post.
Stating that the whole episode may malign the image of Taba Tedir, who is the official candidate of BJP, they informed that BJP workers of Yachuli constituency in particular and Keyi Panyor district as a whole, will hold a rally against corruption in next few days.
