Itanagar, Sep 18:  The BJP in Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday launched ‘Seva Pakhwada’ to be observed from September 17 to October 2, to mark the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
During the fortnight, the party workers will render their services in various activities like blood donation, free health camps, tree plantations, equipment for differently abled persons, vaccination drives, etc. In line with Modi’s call to make India TB-free by 2025, party workers will also adopt TB patients in their respective areas.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu, while joining the opening ceremony at the BJP State headquarters here along with Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein and State president Biyuram Wahge, hailed Modi’s leadership and political acumen that guided the country in general and Arunachal Pradesh, in particular, to achieve “several milestones”.
“We as Indians are lucky to have Modi ji as our Prime Minister. His dedication, sincerity and vast political acumen have guided the country in general and Arunachal Pradesh in particular to achieve several milestones that wouldn’t have been possible otherwise,” Khandu said.
Asserting that “service with dedication is at the core of our idea of good governance as envisioned by PM”, he urged his colleagues in government, party workers and other stakeholders to commit themselves to the service of the state and its people. “That will be our best gift to the PM from the people of Arunachal Pradesh on his birthday,” he said.
“He had advocated productive and people-friendly reforms in governance. We in the state tried our best to follow his advice and with much pride we can say that we have brought in several game-changing reforms. I dedicate whatever we as a state government have achieved in the last six years to our Prime Minister,” Khandu said. In his speech, Chowna Mein said the pledge towards building ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ has started showing results, with the mantra inspiring everyone to contribute to the nation-building process. During the programme, Khandu also welcomed a former minister from Changlang district and vice president of the Congress party, Tinkhap Taiju, into the BJP fold. Taiju formally joined the ruling party on Saturday.

Senior BJP leaders including Health & Family Welfare Minister Alo Libang, Deputy Speaker Tesam Pongte, state general secretaries Chau Zingnu Namchoom and Nalong Mize also attended the event.
Earlier on the day, the state BJP president along with senior leaders including Ministers Honchun Nangdam and Alo Libang, Itanagar MLA Techi Kaso, Mayor Tame Phassang and others distributed fruit among the indoor patients of RK Mission Hospital here. The party’s youth wing (BJYM) organised a blood donation camp at TRIHMS, Naharlagun to mark the day.
