NAMSAI, Jun 18: The BJP Arunachal Pradesh organized 'Maha Jan Samprak Abhiyan' Mega Rally at Namsai on Saturday to mark the completion of nine years of the Narendra Modi Government at the centre and seven years of Pema Khandu Government in the state.
The rally was addressed by JP Nadda, National BJP President, Pema Khandu Chief Minister, Chowna Mein, Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Chuba Ao, National Vice-President, among others.
Dilip Saikia, MP cum National General secretary in-charge Arunachal Pradesh, besides Ministers, MLAs, BJP senior leaders and karyakartas and thousands of people from Eastern Parliamentary Constituency also attended the rally.
JP Nadda, who arrived in Arunachal Pradesh for the first time after taking charge as National BJP President, while addressing the rally said that North Eastern states gained more importance after Atal Bihari Vajpayee became the Prime Minister of India and the works initiated by him are being implemented by PM Narendra Modi, which reflects his love and care for the NE region. Nadda said that the PM visited North East more than 50 times and Arunachal Pradesh more than five times in last nine years unlike other PMs.
While highlighting the various developmental projects implemented and initiated by the Modi Government, Nadda said that more than 20,000 km road has been built in Arunachal Pradesh during last nine years as opposed to the Congress government which saw only 30,000 km road in more than 60 years.
While speaking on the Congress allegation over price rise in the country, Nadda clarified that India is the fastest growing economy in the world with its GDP standing at 8.7% much higher than many developed countries. Inflation in India is less than 4.2% and price rise increased slightly by 2.91% , he said.
Accusing the Congress for not building roads in border areas of the country due to its weak foreign policy, Nadda said that during the Congress' long rule it did not intend to develop the border areas.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu highlighted various developmental activities and achievement in Arunachal Pradesh. Under the guidance and blessing of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we are witnessing since last nine years, how much NE and Arunachal Pradesh has transformed in terms of development, he said. Terming connectivity was the biggest challenge for Arunachal Pradesh, the CM said that now everybody can see the improvement in connectivity sector in the state.
Khandu said that every state has unique challenges and opportunities which was recognized by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that earlier Arunachal Pradesh was known for being remotest place and NE was neglected during the Congress regime. Now NE and Arunachal Pradesh are transforming in all fronts and we are witnessing pace of real development since last nine years under the Modi government.
While comparing with the previous Congress government at the centre, Khandu said that NE states gained more importance after the Modi Government came to power in 2014. The frequent visit of union ministers and officials to oversee the pace of developmental projects in the North Eastern states and special focus on the developmental activities of Arunachal Pradesh is highly appreciable and known by all, the chief minister said.
"The Modi led BJP government is the only one who can fulfill the aspiration of the people of Arunachal Pradesh in terms of developmental activities in all front.," Khandu said.
Later JP Nadda held an interaction meeting with BJP legislators, state office bearers and community based organizations at Namsai.
