Itanagar, Sep 23: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Arunachal Pradesh has rejected what it terms misleading and politically motivated statement issued by the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) attempting to discredit Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s historic public rally at IG Park, Itanagar on September 22.
The APCC’s claim that the Prime Minister used the rally only to “attack Congress and promote himself” is nothing but an attempt to divert public attention whereas the Prime Minister laid foundation stone of Rs 5100 plus crore on Monday at Itanagar was promoting the state towards progressive and nation as whole, the BJP said in a statement issued today.
It further stated that the Congress party ruled Arunachal Pradesh for many decades but left behind a legacy of failure, corruption, and neglect of basic development needs.
Despite ruling Arunachal Pradesh for many decades, the Congress party failed to provide even the most basic infrastructure such as highways, airways, employment opportunities, quality healthcare, and education. Their so-called “foundation” was marked by slow development, corruption, and policy paralysis, leaving Arunachal Pradesh behind while the rest of the nation moved forward, it said.
Congress leaders lacked the political will to develop the state, remaining fearful of China and treating the people of Arunachal Pradesh with stepmotherly neglect as testimonial statement given by then union defence minister AK Anthony in the floor of Parliament.
The party further underscored BJP’s transformational development under PM Narendra Modi citing the execution of mega projects such as roads, bridges, airports, power projects, and advanced border infrastructure under the Vibrant Border Village Programme.
