Veterans' Day celebrated with reverence and pride in Tawang
Governor participates in kite-flying festival
Itanagar, Aug 12: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Arunachal Pradesh today organised a grand Bike Rally Tiranga Yatra across multiple locations in the state, visiting families of those who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation, celebrating the spirit of patriotism, and honouring the country’s heroes.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from party members, ex-servicemen, and the public. The rally was prominently led by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) State Unit along with various district units.
In the state capital Itanagar, the Tiranga Yatra was flagged off by Kaling Moyong, President BJP Arunachal Pradesh.
A special team from the State Head Office, led by Tadar Niglar, State General Secretary BJP, participated in the Tiranga Yatra at Ziro in Lower Subansiri district. The team paid floral tribute to the family of Late Tage Hailyang, who was shot dead at Phalgam, Kashmir, by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists.
The tribute ceremony was attended by local MLA Hage Apa, along with several Panchayat leaders and community members. Following the homage, the team kicked off a bike rally from the Late Tage Hailyang Memorial, concluding at the Late Neelam Tebi War Memorial in Neelam village, Keyi Panyor district. Speaking at Neelam, Tadar Niglar stated that under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India avenged the Phalgam martyrdom through Operation Sindoor, destroying nine terrorist camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). He said, “Our soldiers are strong enough to destroy our enemies.”
He also paid respects to Late Neelam Tebi, who was martyred in the 1962 Indo-China war, noting that for many years under Congress governments, such heroes were never recognised. “Neelam Tebi was our lost hero who gave his life for the nation, and many youth from our state will draw inspiration from him. Today, under the Modi government, our unsung heroes are being researched, recognised, and honoured,” he said.
The programme at Neelam was joined by State Secretary Taring Tiri, Joram Tat, Takhe Yana, State Media Convenor Dolang Tako, and many BJYM karyakartas. The BJP also felicitated the families of Late Tage Hailyang and Late Neelam Tebi, as well as representatives of the Tage Welfare Society and Neelam Welfare Society, in recognition of their respect and honour for these martyrs.
Meanwhile, another team witnessed and participated in the Tiranga Yatra at Roing, Lower Dibang Valley district, led by Dunggoli Libang, State Vice-President BJP. They were joined by Punyo Apum, MLA Dambuk, along with State Secretary Ritemso Manyu, Lori Mugli, and several ZPMs.
The Tiranga Yatra across Arunachal Pradesh stands as a testament to the BJP’s commitment to national unity, remembrance of martyrs, and the celebration of India’s 79th Independence Day spirit.
