BOMDILA, Nov 27: The 2-day training-cum-workshop on One Nation One Ration Card (ONORC) conducted by the Department of Food & Civil Supplies, West Kameng district concluded today here under chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Karma Leki.
DF&CSO M.K Chakraborty elaborated on the benefits of the new scheme for the Below Poverty Line (BPL) ration card beneficiaries. Hands-on training on the use of Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) machines which will help in fair distribution of ration by saving all records digitally was imparted to the Fair Price Shop (FPS) license holders of the district. As per record, a total of 51 EPOS machines have been distributed to the district’s FPS dealers so far. The DC urged the BPL ration card beneficiaries to cooperate with the department for an early implementation of the digital initiative by linking Aadhar card and ration card numbers.
Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Society-cum-Managing Director of Large Sized Multipurpose Cooperative Society (LAMPS) Bomdila, Phurpa Monpa, however, expressed concern over the delay of cost payment and challan by the FPS owners which is creating hurdles in timely arrival of PDS items. DIPRO
