ITANAGAR, May 21: A one day bank mela was held at Government Secondary School, Jote on Friday organised by the local administration which was participated by several mainstream banks.
Many students who couldn't travel to Itanagar due to torrential rain got the benefit of the camp and they could open bank account on the spot. Altogether 49 students opened their account.
State government is emphasizing on account opening of every student by May 31 next since all government facilities like school uniform, stipend, girls hygiene etc shall be through direct benefit transfer (DBT) into the students account. DIPRO
