ITANAGAR, May 19: Honorary Secretary of Arunachal State Badminton Association (ASBA) Bamang Tago, while attending the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Badminton Association of India (BAI), has sought special support from the game’s apex body in the country for promoting badminton in state.
Sr. Vice-President of ASBA Robin Hibu accompanied Tago and the various challenges faced by the state body was elaborated during the meeting. Besides routine events that form the basics of any AGM such as placing of Minutes of last AGM, Annual Report for 2018-19,Audited Statement of Accounts for the year 2018-19 and appointment of auditors grant for various National Championships for the year 2019-20 under Sub Junior National (U-13 years) has been increased from  fifteen lakhs to twenty lakhs.For Sub Junior National (U-15-& 17 years) grant will now be forty lakhs against the earlier figure of twenty five lakhs. In Senior Nationals category, grants have been increased to seventy five lakhs against fifty lakhs earlier. Inter-State Zonal championships will also be receiving ten lakhs. AGM also approved to sponsor one crore  to additional fifty players apart from the selected players. President BAI also informed the members to collect the cheques of Rs. 5/- lakhs as grant to each State Member Association for the development of the game in their respective states.
President BAI Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma chaired the AGM and congratulated the State Associations including ASBA for all efforts and commitments for overall development of badminton in despites many challenges.    
Meanwhile, the comprehensive Annual Calendar Event of ASBA has also been approved and released by Honorary General Secretary of BAI, Ajay Kumar Singhania on May 17 last. ASBA Press Release
