Itanagar, Sep 23: The 11th Board Meeting of Arunachal Pradesh Biodiversity Board was held today under the chairmanship of the Chairman APBB, Hawa Bagang. The meeting was attended by the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & Head of Forest Force, P. Subramanyum, IFS, Member Bakemso Tawsik and other esteemed members of the Board representing the PCCF (WL&BD), departments of Agriculture, Horticulture, Tourism and Non-official members representing Botanical Survey of India (BSI), Zoological Survey of India (ZSI), GB Pant Institute and officials of APBB.
The meeting commenced with the welcome address delivered by Member Bakemso Tawsik. During the meeting, deliberations were held on the agenda items placed before the Board and resolved during the meeting. The discussion focussed on strengthening biodiversity conservation initiatives, implementation of Biological Diversity Act and measures for effective functioning of Biodiversity Management Committees across the state.
The meeting was also attended by the Advisor of the State Biodiversity Board, C.A. Reddy, IFS (Retd.) & outgoing Chairman, National Biodiversity Authority, who provided valuable insight and suggestions on matters of biodiversity governance and conservation planning. His guidance was appreciated by the board and is expected to further enrich the functioning of the APBB.
