TAWANG, Feb 27: The employees provident fund office, Guwahati, conducted a one day awareness programme under Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0 at Tawang today.
The observer for the programme from EPFO Delhi, Apurva Gautam, Commissioner EPF,  expressed his satisfaction on the gathering of participants which included registered contractors, casual labours and employees from various departments despite ongoing Losar festival and sub zero temperatures of Tawang. Speaking about Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0 programme, he informed that under this programme, the Government of India aims to go to the public at their doorsteps to give awareness regarding EPF schemes, and asked participants to place their grievances and doubts if any during the interactive session. 
Deputy Commissioner, Tawang,  Kesang Ngurup Damo, termed the programme as historic as such awareness camp regarding EPF schemes and its benefits to workers was earlier not conducted in the district.
He said that people can get thorough knowledge of EPF schemes from the concerned officers here at their doorstep. He further said that all the casual workers irrespective of organisation in which they are engaged should be covered under EPF Scheme, and it is compulsory. The registered contractors should get it done and open EPF account of all workers under them.
Earlier in his welcome address, Sujoy Bhattacharyya, from EPFO Guwahati, informed that goverment of India has launched the Nidhi Aapke Nikat programme in the month of January 2023, and it has now been decided that on 27th of every month this awareness programme will be conducted all over the country.
