Raga, Aug 22: Awareness programmes on water-borne diseases and Japanese Encephalitis(JE) were conducted by the District Health Society in collaboration with PHE & WS Department, as a part of Swachch Bharat Abhiyan here at Raga and Boa Simla on August 20 and 21 respectively. 
This special awareness drive was conducted in the wake of detection of enteric fever bacteria during a random laboratory quality test of water supply in Raga area by the District Health Surveillance Team of Lower Subansiri district. DRCHO Dr.Kapu Sopin dwelt in length about water borne diseases and the ways to prevent them. AE,PHE Itum Naso stressed on the need to keep drinking water sources clean and advised people to avoid carrying out any human activities nearby water sources. Later, the technical teams also inspected the water reservoir tanks of the area. 
En route encroachments were dismantled and orders issued to the settlers to shift from the vicinity of the water tanks immediately. DIPRO
