ITANAGAR, Apr 24: The Save Arunachal Youth Association (SAYA) and Arunachal RTI Activist Association (AARTIAA) have jointly given the state government a 15-day ultimatum to take action against the ADO Namsai for allegedly deceiving authorities and misusing the Scheduled Tribe (ST) certificate of Arunachal Pradesh to clear the Agriculture Development Officer examination conducted under the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission.
Speaking to the media, SAYA President Likha Rajnik stated that a joint FIR has already been lodged at the Itanagar police station and also with the Special Investigation Cell (SIC) against the ADO Namsai. ADO Tiprami Manglong used two ST certificates, one from Arunachal Pradesh to attend the APPSC examination and the other from Assam to gain admission to Assam Agriculture University, deceiving the authorities by misusing the ST certificate, added Rajnik while demanding her immediate termination from the post.
"If the government fails to respond within the stipulated time frame, this could become another PRC-like situation in the state. How did she clear the scrutiny process under the nose of the APPSC? Moreover, there should be CBI and ED inquiries against the concerned Minister for Agri & Allied along with the accused ADO Tiprami Manlong," he said.
"The Minister must be hands in gloves in the incident and there must be many more candidates who have qualified for the said examination through wrong means, and he must be trying to protect the candidates who have unlawfully cleared the examination," alleged Rajnik. This could be the possible reason why the Minister is opposing the demands for the "null and void" of all the examinations conducted under APPSC, he added.
Along with the termination of Tiprami Manlong, the Chief Minister should immediately remove Minister Tage Taki from the cabinet post for a free and fair investigation. Rajnik also expressed resentment over the lackadaisical attitude of the SIC in investigating the case.
