ITANAGAR, Aug 26: The Nabam Youth Association (NYA) today urged the Police department to file charge sheet in the Nabam Lingdo murder case within 15 days.
Speaking to reporters at the press club, President NYA, Nabam Tuna said "We appreciate the police team for immediately arresting the culprit one Taba Sanjay involved in the heinous murder case and for brutally injuring a girl on August 21 last."
NYA added that it is disheartened by the police press statement on the reasons behind the crime without any consultation with the victim's family.
"However, we appreciate the police team and extend all our support in further investigation as well as appeal to them to file charge sheet within 15 days as it is an open and shut case," Nabam Tuna said.
FIR copy was submitted on 25th August last seeking free & fair investigation on the case, he said.
The NYA appeals to the accused family members not to interfere in the case and also not to appeal for his bail. Crime is a crime, it has no religion, tribe or community; culprit must get stringent punishment as per the law, said President NYA.
Meanwhile, the mother of the victim girl (undergoing treatment at Guwahati) disclosed that late Nabam Lingdo had nothing to do with the relationship of the accused Taba Sanjay and one of her eldest daughters.  Being a mother, I have always objected to the relationship of the accused with my minor daughter, she said.
I appeal to the court to punish Sanjay with life imprisonment or  death sentence  for committing the heinous crime leading to the loss of an innocent life and another fighting for her life in hospital, the mother said.
