Khonsa, Nov 12: Continuing its commitment to youth development and community engagement in Tirap District, the Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles organised a Sports Items Distribution Programme at Horu Chinhan village on Tuesday.
The initiative aimed to encourage local youth to actively participate in sports and fitness activities, promoting the spirit of teamwork, discipline, and healthy living. During the event, a variety of sports equipment — including footballs, volleyballs, badminton sets, and other sporting gear — were distributed to the village youth and local teams.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from the villagers, village authorities, and youth representatives, who expressed their gratitude towards the Assam Rifles for their continuous efforts in fostering community development and motivating the younger generation.
Speaking on the occasion, the representative of Khonsa Battalion highlighted the importance of sports in building physical fitness, leadership qualities, and unity among youth, aligning with the national vision of a fit and active India.
The event reaffirmed Assam Rifles’ commitment to its motto — “Friends of the Hill People” — and its dedication towards promoting peace, prosperity, and progress in the region.
