KHONSA, Apr 18: The World  Heritage Day was celebrated at Khonsa under the aegis of Khonsa Battalion Assam Rifles to spread awareness on the importance of the diversity of cultural heritage and its preservation for future generations. The day long event was formally inaugurated by Col Aman Ahluwalia, SM, CO 6 Assam Rifles in presence of ZPM Bari-Basip Tediap Hallang, Tumwang Lowang, ZPM Khela-Bunting Block, Chiefs, Gaon Buras of various villages of Tirap district.
This year the day was  observed on the theme "Heritage Changes" and focuses on the critical topic of addressing climate change and how that relates to cultural heritage.
