Itanagar, Nov 14: The 1st State Level Empowered Committee (SLEC) meeting on Prime Minister’s Development Initiative for North East Region (PM-DevINE) was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Dharmendra at civil secretariat, today.
PM-DevINE is a central sector scheme with 100% central funding and implemented by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER).
Advance Landing Grounds (ALG) at Dirang and Anini; and Augmentation of Water Supply for Itanagar Capital Complex with a capacity of 62 MLD at an estimate cost of Rs. 352 Crores were two important projects proposed by the SLEC under the PM-DevINE to the Ministry of DoNER.   
Chief Secretary informed the Senior Economic Adviser Ministry of DoNER Dr. Kumar V. Pratap that besides strengthening the air transportation infrastructure of the state the ALGs at Dirang and Anini will provide air communication for public and tourists throughout the year.
The two proposed ALGs are strategically located and will also have strategic utilities in critical times.
The meeting was also attended by Commissioner PWD Kaling Tayeng, Commissioner Planning P.S. Lokhande, Secretary Civil Aviation S. Nayak, Chief Engineer PHE&WS (WZ) Toko Jyoti among others.
