NEW DELHI, Nov 27: In pursuance of Prime Minister’s clarion call for doubling farmers' income and as part of events under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Government of Arunachal Pradesh pitched for major market share for its organic kiwis in major cities like Delhi. To achieve this mission, Arunachal kiwis was launched by Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture Marketing Board (APAMB) in the national capital's  ‘Dilli Haat’ today in collaboration with NAFED as marketing partner.
Applauding the efforts, Kiren Rijiju, Minister, Law &Justice, who attended the function as Chief Guest, said that this is a historic day as for the first time certified Organic Kiwi from Arunachal is being launched in the heart of Delhi - Dilli Haat. 
"This event is a milestone that will open the market for various other organic products from the state."  He emphasized on organizing more such events as they play an important role in the promotion, branding and marketing of agriculture and horticulture produce from the state.
Speaking on the occasion, MoS -Agri & Farmers Welfare, Kailash Choudhary emphasized on the importance of Farmers Producer Organization(FPOs) in the growth of the rural economy and bringing prosperity to farmers of the country. He also highlighted various schemes of Government of India which can make agriculture a lucrative venture for youth including the Formation and Promotion of 10,000 Farmer Producer Organizations(FPOs) Scheme.
Chief Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh, Naresh Kumar highlighted the potential of Arunachal Pradesh which has 25 lakh hectares of cultivable area of which only a marginal portion is cultivated by the farmers of the state.
Among others, Planning and Investment Commissioner, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, Prashant Lokhande,  Okit Palling-CEO, APAMB, Dr P K Swain-Additional Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Sanjeev Chaddha, MD – NAFED and others attended the event.
Tage Taki, Minister -Agri. & Allied  flagged off the event directly from Ziro.
