ITANAGAR, Jun 11: Covid situation in Arunachal Pradesh saw a marked deterioration on Friday with five more deaths and infection count getting bigger in size than recoveries.
At DCHC Changlang a 65-yr old female Covid patient without any comorbidity and a first dose taker expired due to Covid pneumonia today. A 45-yr old male Covid patient from Namsai district with multiple comorbidities and not vaccinated died at AMCH Dibrugarh due to cardio-vascular failure. A 52-yr old male from Tawang whose vaccination status was nil expired today at 181 Dahung, West Kameng due to Covid pneumonia. He was not suffering from any comorbidity. A 63-yr old male Covid patient also from Tawang district who was suffering from various comorbidities and vaccinated with both the doses expired today at 181 Dahung, West Kameng due to Covid pneumonia. A 42-yr old male from East Siang without any comorbidity and whose vaccination status was nil, expired today at DCH Pasighat due to ARDS and Covid pneumonia. With these casualties the state’s death Covid death toll rose to 138.
A total of 358 new Covid cases in the state were added on Friday and Kurung Kumey accounted for the maximum with 59, followed by ICR 54 and Changlang 43. Of the total, asymptomatic cases were 220 and 138 symptomatic. Recoveries saw a fall compared to the previous day with a total of 288. The top 5 districts were -ICR 50, Changlang 33, Namsai 24, West Kameng 29 and East Siang 22. On Friday evening, the state had 3274 active Covid patients and 27438 complete recoveries. 5673 samples were collected from across the state on the day.
In the 18-44 age group, 1157 took their first doses, in the 45+ age category 2710 for dose 1 and 23 for dose 2. Occupancy status at the CCCs on Friday evening was- 50 at DCH Chimpu, 27 at SQF Lekhi, 2 at DCHC Midpu, 10 at DCH Pasighat and 31 at DCHC.
