ITANAGAR, May 23:  Coronavirus took 3 more lives in Arunachal Pradesh on Sunday taking the casualty toll to 98.
A 58-yr old male Covid patient from Air Colony, Tawang district who was administered with the first dose of vaccine on April 26 last expired on Saturday due to COVID pneumonia. A 60-yr old female Covid patient from A-Sector, Naharlagun who was not vaccinated and had several comorbidities expired today at DCH Chimpu due to acute respiratory distress syndrome.  A 60- Yr old male Covid patient from Aalo, West Siang district expired today morning. He was suffering from diabetes mellitus, chronic kidney disease and had aortic valve replacement with Covid pneumonia and expired due to acute respiratory distress syndrome. His vaccination status is unknown.
A total of 226 new cases were recorded on the day with Changlang and ICR accounting for 58 and 41 cases respectively which took the state’s Covid active tally to 2899. However, recoveries overtook new cases with a total of 260 (ICR 79 and Changlang 35 the first two districts), taking the state’s discharge  tally to 21096. 3005 samples for Covid tests were also collected from across the state on Sunday.

A total of 2576 Covid patients are currently under home isolation in the state and occupancy status at the CCCs as of May 23 was- 59 at DCH Chimpu, 47 at SQF Lekhi, 3 at DCHC Midpu, 3 at DCH Pasighat and 58 at DCHC.
