ITANAGAR, May 24: With 4 more deaths, Arunachal Pradesh’s Covid death toll touched 102 on Monday and with a record 480 new infections the active caseload reached 3127.
A 44-yr old male Covid patient from Sunpura, Lohit district who was not vaccinated expired today at DCH Pasighat due to acute respiratory distress syndrome. A 50-yr old female Covid patient referred from GH-Khonsa, Tirap, also not vaccinated and with multiple comorbidities died on Sunday evening at AMCH Dibrugarh due to cardio respiratory failure. A 98- Yr old male Covid patient from the capital whose vaccination status is unknown and had several comorbidities expired today at DCH Chimpu. A 52-yr old male Covid patient residing at ITBP Kimin camp who was vaccinated with the first dose expired today at DCH Chimpu due to Covid pneumonia.
A total of 480 new cases were recorded on the day with Changlang accounting the maximum with 93, followed by Tawang 68, ICR 67 and Namsai 55.  With 249 recoveries (ICR 67, Namsai 20 the top two) the state’s discharge tally is now 21344. 6607 samples for Covid tests were also collected from across the state on Monday.
The occupancy status at the CCCs as of May 24 was- 57 at DCH Chimpu, 47 at SQF Lekhi, 4 at DCHC Midpu, 6 at DCH Pasighat and 35 at DCHC.
