Itanagar, Aug 31: Arunachal’s Nyeman Wangsu, one of India’s most outstanding Wushu athletes, has been selected to represent the nation at the prestigious 17th World Wushu Championships, to be held in Brasília, Brazil, from September 1- 8.
A three-time National Games Gold Medalist, Wangsu has consistently brought glory to the country with her remarkable performances, securing multiple gold medals at both national and international championships. She will leave for the host country from New Delhi with Team India, embarking on her journey to showcase her talent on the world stage.
The All Arunachal Pradesh Wushu Association, under the leadership of its dedicated team, has played a pivotal role in nurturing and promoting Wushu in the state. Today, Wushu stands as the number one medal-winning sport of Arunachal Pradesh, and its achievements have extended far beyond national boundaries, with athletes even making their mark at the Asian Games. This remarkable progress is a testament to the Association’s tireless efforts and commitment to building a strong foundation for the sport.
The General Secretary of AAPWA, John Tara Bakey, has ensured seamless coordination and correspondences for Miss Wangsu’s participation, while Coach Prem Chandra Singh of the Sangey Lhaden Sports Academy (SLSA) has provided dedicated technical guidance and training support, further strengthening her preparations.
