SILIGURI, May 30: Patnitanki check post officials on the India-Nepal border have arrested a woman with 8.50 kilogram of silver jewellery.
The 52-year-old woman arrested is named as Yakhio Pawa and she is from the East Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh.
The stones found in the recovered ornaments and they are valued at about 3 lakh 44 thousand 6 hundred rupees. The arrested woman is said to be a courier.
She was going ahead to hand over these jewels to a woman named Mina Bai who was living in Seppa. The recovered jewellery and the arrested woman have been handed over to the custom.(Agencies)
