ITANAGAR, Feb 5: Arunachal Pradesh opened its medal tally by clinching three Bronze Medal in Boxing on the 6th day of ongoing 5th Khelo India Youth Games 2022 Madhya Pradesh on Saturday.
Taw Pakba won bronze in Light Welter Weight 60 to 63.5 kg, Fenia Paffa won the second bronze in Light weight 57 to 60 kg while Guruk Pordung won the third bronze for Arunachal in the Feather Weight 54 to 57 Kg category.
With the three bronze medals, Arunachal Pradesh stands at 26th Rank in overall medal tally and is ranked 3rd among North- eastern states.
On Sunday, Arunachal Pradesh girls football team registered a thumping win against Dadar & Nagar Haveli by scoring 17-0 goals in the last league round match played at Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh in the ongoing 5th Khelo India Youth Games-2022.
However,  the Arunachal Pradesh boys football team lost the last league round match against Punjab by 3-0 goals and could not qualify for the semi-final match.     
The Arunachal weightlifting team comprising of 19 members (8 boys, 8 girls & 3 officials) is already stationed at Indore and will begin their campaign from Monday. The Arunachal Judo team comprising of 9 members (4 boys, 3 girls & 2 officials) will be reaching Bhopal tonight and begin their campaign from February 7 next. The last contingent, Arunachal Thang-Ta team comprising of 3 members (2 boys & 1 officials) will be reaching shortly.
