ITANAGAR, Mar 29: Heavyweight weightlifter of Arunachal, Kojum Taba has created a new national record while hunting for a Gold medal in the  Senior Division today at the National Weightlifting Championship being played at Odisha.
Taba, a former senior Commonwealth Weightlifting Champion won the Gold medal today in Heavyweight 102 Kg category. Competing the race for Gold medal, Kojum lifted Snatch:153 Kg, Clean & Jerk : 192 Kg and the Total of 345 Kg. Kojum didn't played last year due to injury.
Meanwhile, Silver medal was won by Vikas Thakur of Services Sports Control Board (SCCB) by lifting Snatch: 148 Kg, Clean & jerk :193 Kg and the Total of 341 Kg, while the Bronze medal was won by  Sachin Mehmi of Services Sports Control Board (SCCB) by lifting Snatch : 148 Kg, Clean & Jerk 185 Kg and the Total of 333Kg.
