Itanagar, Jun 11: The Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, has released the first instalment of Rs. 17.432 crores as scholarship for 5,022 eligible students. The sanctioned amount will be credited directly to the respective students' bank accounts within the next 2-3 working days, subject to smooth technical processing.
For the academic year 2024-25, a total of 45,125 students from Arunachal Pradesh have successfully applied for the Post Matric Scholarship through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). The total financial requirement for disbursement stands at Rs. 127.173 crores.
The disbursement for the remaining 40,103 students will be undertaken as soon as further funds are received from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. The Ministry has communicated that the next instalment will be released upon confirmation of expenditure of the first instalment.
The State Government is committed to ensuring that no deserving student is deprived of their rightful scholarship benefits. In previous years, the State has stepped in with advance or gap funding from its own resources in light of delays from the central ministry. However, under the newly implemented Single Nodal Agency (SNA) account system and the SNA-SPARSH platform, such advance releases require prior approval from both the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
The State Government has assured the student community that all due scholarships will be disbursed once administrative and procedural clearances are obtained.
The Government of Arunachal Pradesh remains deeply committed to the welfare of its students and continues to engage with all stakeholders to ensure timely resolution and release of scholarship funds, a statement said.
