Itanagar, Oct 11: A joint press briefing was held today at Itanagar, to announce the upcoming Sardar 150 Unity March, commemorating the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Themed ‘Unity March: Ek Bharat, Aatmanirbhar Bharat’, the event will be organised across the State and all districts from October 31 to November 25.
The press briefing was addressed by Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) Tapir Gao and MLA-cum-Advisor to Minister (Sports & Youth Affairs) Zingnu Namchoom. They were joined by the Deputy Director, My India; Director of Youth Affairs, Regional Director NSS, and State Liaison Officer NSS Arunachal Pradesh, along with State Secretary BJP, Joram Tat and a host of other officials.
During the briefing, the dignitaries appealed to the youth and citizens of Arunachal Pradesh to actively participate in the Unity March and contribute towards building a stronger, united, and self-reliant Bharat.
As part of the commemoration, several key initiatives will be undertaken, including:
Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam – promoting environmental awareness and tree plantation, Swach Abhiyan – emphasizing cleanliness and civic responsibility, and Har Ghar Swadeshi, Ghar Ghar Swadeshi – encouraging self-reliance and the use of indigenous products.
The Sardar 150 Unity March aims to celebrate and propagate the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, India’s first Home Minister, whose vision and leadership were instrumental in uniting the nation. The event underscores the ideals of national integration, unity, and self-reliance, inspiring the youth to uphold Patel’s enduring message of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.”
