 ITANAGAR, Aug 22: Single day new Covid infections fell to probably its lowest during the second wave of the pandemic, with Arunachal Pradesh reporting 49 cases on Sunday.
 The state continued to maintain the trend of higher rate of recoveries as the past weeks and a total of 169 patients recovered today.
 The two deaths reported was that of a 72-year-old male from Lower Dibang Valley who died at DCHC Roing due to Covid Pneumonia and a 20-year-old female from Papumpare died at DCH Chimpu due to ARDS with covid pneumonia. 
Both were suffering from comorbidities and were not vaccinated.
 Of the new cases, Itanagar Capital Complex reported the maximum cases at 14 from a total sample collection of 438 with a positivity rate at 3.2 per cent. Symptomatic cases were 25 and asymptomatic 24.
 Recoveries was the highest in the Itanagar Capital Complex with 47 patients getting well.
