ITANAGAR, Nov 9: As part of the closing ceremony of the Arunachal Pradesh Police' 50th Raising Day, a Shashakti Program: Self-defense for girls was held at 1st AAPBN ground on Wednesday. DGP Satish Golchha( IPS) attended the program and interacted with over 350 students from 10 different schools who took part in the closing event.
Shashakti program: based on teaching basics of self defence to girl students is an initiative of Arunachal Pradesh Police under DGP AP. The program aims to impart basic self defence knowledge to the students and develop self-confidence among the girl students so that they can take necessary action under duress when police help is not available immediately.
During the course of the program, a total of 10 schools were covered. In each school, 50 students were randomly selected with the total reaching over 500. At the end of each training, the students were provided a certificate of participation in the course along with T-shirts. The instructors were from PTC and 1st AAPBN. CT Kili Nguri and CT Takam Kena, both Black Belt in martial arts were the main instructors.
