ITANAGAR, Feb 23: The Arunachal Pradesh police busted an ENNG camp in Changlang district today as part of a major counter-insurgency operation close to the India-Myanmar border.
Team of Special Task Force of Arunachal Pradesh police recovered a huge cache of arms & ammunition and also destroyed camp of Eastern Naga National Government (ENNG) in a special operation executed in the wee hours of 23rd February at Lungpang, Rima Putok Circle, in Changlang district.
The operation was implemented under the leadership of DGP, formulated by IG L&O Chukhu Apa, and executed by SP Changlang Mihin Gambo, along with a team of STF and Changlang Police, informed  SP (STF) Rohit Rajbir Singh who was also part of the operation.
He further added that the assault was launched over the camp occupied by the insurgents group ENNG
in the general area near the Indo-Myanmar Border after receiving tip off from sources. The camp was burned down and destroyed by the team, after due photography  and videography of the incident site.
Before executing the operation,  recce was conducted on February 22 last and at least 5 suspected insurgents were spotted. Thus, in today's operation, a controlled offensive in the camp was mounted.
As a result, the UGs were forced to abandon the camp and retreat. 
Upon ceasing of operation, the camp was investigated for evidences and recovery of arms and ammunitions, added Singh.
The busted ENNG camp included a sizable cache of weapons and ammunition that was later destroyed by the police. 
The recoveries includes one AK-47 rifle, one M16 rifle, one hand grenade, AK-47 7.62mm rounds (104 nos), 5.56mm rounds (23nos), AK-47 7.62mm ammo magazines (4 nos), 5.56mm ammo magazines (2 nos), two daos, one WT communication set along with charger, and a PAN card.
