ITANAGAR, Nov 7: The 6th Edition of the Arunachal Literature Festival (ALF) is set to be an extraordinary event, drawing acclaimed writers, poets, and award-winning screenwriters from both India and abroad informed Secretary of Information and Public Relations (IPR), Nyali Ete.
This year’s festival, to be held from November 13 to 15 at the Dorjee Khandu Convention Centre in Itanagar, promises to showcase a rich lineup of literary and cultural programming.
Ete further added, ALF will welcome international participants, with guests coming from Thailand and Nepal. This international participation highlights the festival’s growing reputation on the global literary stage and underscores its commitment to cross-cultural dialogue and exchange. He also emphasized that ALF has become a platform that celebrates literature, storytelling, and the arts, bringing together diverse voices to foster creativity and collaboration.
A number of notable figures are expected to attend this year’s event, including literary luminaries like Mmhonlumo Kikon, Mitra Phukan, Raza Kazmi, Sathya Saran, Jerry Pinto and Harish Kapadia. In addition to panel discussions and workshops, the festival will feature an exclusive Children’s Corner designed to engage younger audiences with storytelling sessions. This year, at the request of the Women’s Police Station, a special session will also be hosted for local inmates, demonstrating the festival’s commitment to inclusivity and outreach in WPS Itanagar, stated Secretary IPR..
Among the highlights of the festival will be a storytelling workshop led by Vijayalakshmi Nagaraj, Reena Puri (Executive Editor of Amar Chitra Katha), and Ritoparna Hazra (Art Director at Amar Chitra Katha). Additionally, two-time National Award-winning screenwriter Ashok Mishra will conduct a session on filmmaking, offering insights into the craft for aspiring filmmakers,added Nyali Ete (IAS).
