ITANAGAR, Apr 21:In the wake of Chinese claims, Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee President, Takam Sanjoy today said that Arunachal Pradesh is without any doubt and confusion “an integral part of the Indian Union”.
The entire indigenous and ethnic people of Arunachal Pradesh have since British India, got integrated into the Indian mainstream. Some of ethnic tribe leaders even participated during the freedom struggle of Indian Independence. Therefore, Arunachal being disputed as claimed by the Chinese Govt. is absolutely absurd and beyond any ethnic migratory evidence, Sanjoy said.
Backing the Dalai Lama visit to the state, he said the visit was religious and asserted that even non-Buddhist Arunachalee tribals also joined in large number to hear the religious teaching of the Dalai Lama.
Sanjoy however came down heavily on the statement of Chief Minister Pema Khandu who said that “Arunachal is not bordering with China but its bordering with Tibet” as immature and uncalled for.
‘The CM of a sensitive state like Arunachal Pradesh should not make statement after going through the entire gamut of political status and history of Tibet as recognized by the Indian government,’ he said in a statement.
