ITANAGAR, May 11:The Arunachal Pradesh Goods and Services Tax Bill 2017 will be placed in the state assembly tomorrow for ratification, Chief Minister Pema Khandu said today.

The bill was recently approved by the cabinet, he told the Chief Commissioner of Central Excise (North East Region) S K Panda today, an official release said.

Panda had called on the chief minister at his private residence here.

handu said Arunachal Pradesh a consuming state would benefit in the GST regime and almost all district headquarters in the state have the required infrastructure in place to embrace it.

"Work on optical fibre laying is undertaken on war footing to connect far flung rural populace so that the IT connectivity and the benefits coupled with it is reaped by each and every citizen of the state," he said.

"GST will be simple and easy to administer with its better control on leakages, robust IT infrastructure, higher revenue efficiency, relief in overall tax burden and destination based tax. It will also greatly help in removing economic distortions and in development of a common national market," Khandu was quoted to have told Panda.

Panda, who is here as the main resource person for the GST workshop for MLAs, officers and deputy commissioners, advocated rigorous campaign and awareness on GST, the release added.
