ITANAGAR, July 2: Arunachal Pradesh Junior Women's Team  lost 5-0 against Dadra and Nagar Haveli despite putting up a brave performance in the hard fought second semi final match of Hero Jr. Women's National Football Championship played today at Guwahati.
Swift attacking play by the Dadra & Nagar Haveli players caused huge problems for Arunachal defence which has been solid so far in the tournament. D&NH's persistent attack paid off  when they were awarded the penalty kick for the foul committed by Arunachal player in the 24th minute of the first half.
Player in form Pooja scored well taken penalty kick to give her team lead in the match. Lead was extended shortly through brilliant free kick by Pooja in the 30th minute.
In the second half, Arunachal came back strong in search of goals and created few good chances but failed to convert any of them. Luck was also not in its favour, as the team conceded one more goal through massive deflection off Pooja which was beyond Goalkeeper's reach in the 67th minute of the match. Dadra and Nagar Haveli wrapped up the match by scoring two more goals in the 81st and 84th minute to reach the Grand Finale on July 4 next.
Despite its exit in the semi final stage,delighted with the performances showcased by the Arunachal Jr. Women's Team through out the Championship , Arunachal Pradesh Football Association in its press statement said, " We are very proud of our girls and Team Management who gave their best and proved that we can rub shoulders against very best teams of the country and beat them ." " They have set a new benchmark for coming years. We are sure that this team has inspired many young girls and boys to work hard on their game and play to achieve greatness," APFA further added.
