Namsai, Jun 27: In a vibrant display of grassroots enterprise and women-led innovation, the Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM), Namsai Block, hosted the Udyami Panjikaran Mela at Namsai Town Club on Thursday. The event drew enthusiastic participation from Self-Help Group (SHG) entrepreneurs, community leaders, and government officials alike.
Kalyani Namchoom, Additional Deputy Commissioner (HQ), attended as Chief Guest. Also present was Kamal Roy, Assistant General Manager of NABARD, who served as Guest of Honour. The occasion saw representation from several key departments, including Textile & Handicrafts, DIPRO Namsai, and the Department of Industries, alongside President of Umang MPCS and CRP-EPs of Namsai Block. A total of 128 products got registered by CRP-EPs.
The programme opened with a welcome address from Ronald Dkhar Baghwar, Block Mission Manager of ArSRLM Namsai Block. A detailed briefing on the significance of the Mela was then delivered by Michi Bida Buda, Block Coordinator (Non-Farm Livelihoods).
In her address, the ADC praised the entrepreneurial spirit emerging among rural women. She remarked on the noticeable changes in confidence, financial literacy, and decision-making seen in SHG members over recent years. She further stressed the importance of pricing local products wisely to ensure long-term viability in wider markets.
Addressing the gathering, Kamal Roy AGM NABARD shed light on NABARD’s continuing efforts to strengthen of SHG ecosystems and support enterprise development at the grassroots. He spoke on the importance of building sustainable business models.
The Mela not only served as a platform for registration and awareness but also marked a significant step forward in the region’s journey toward inclusive and sustainable rural growth.
