ITANAGAR, Nov 26: Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM) in collaboration with capital’s E & S Cakery arranged a ‘Training on Baking’ which was attended by 97 Women SHG members.
The training which was a part of DAY-National Rural Livelihoods Mission was imparted in three different batches from November 8-26 for Women SHG members belonging to Riga, Pangin, Mebo, Ruksin, Namsai, Tezu, Roing, Basar, Daporijo, Ziro, Palin, Sagalee and Seppa CD Blocks. “My Goal is to start home based bakery unit and if there is a positive response I will have my own outlet in my block,” said Aruna Tatin one of the SHG member from Pangin CD Block who attended the training. “We are not just providing them practical training but have also prepared a guide book which has information of all bakery equipment, ingredients, recipes and other important aspects like FSSAI Certification process which shall help them in proper planning to start their business. Further, we intend to have advanced training for those selected few from these 97 members who will actually take up bakery as a livelihood option in their respective blocks,” informed Programme Manager (Livelihoods & Skills) Nabam Tubin.
It is pertinent to mention that Bakery is one of the many initiatives taken up by ArSRLM in order to promote livelihoods amongst women SHG Members in the state. ArSRLM is currently working in 15 districts and promoting more than 2600 Women SHGs. ArSRLM PR
