Tenga Valley, Jul 29: As part of the Government of India initiative of Mission Amrit Sarovar, the West Kameng administration, along with the support of the Indian Army constructed a reservoir at Tenga Valley aimed at rainwater harvesting and water conservation. The areas around the Sarovar, which is astride the Tenga Chu River and NH-13, have also been developed for recreational activities as a tourist spot.
The Amrit Sarovar was inaugurated by General Officer Commanding, Ball of Fire Division in presence of the Deputy Commissioner West Kameng and was then jointly dedicated to the people of the area. Officers of the Ball of Fire Division and the civil administration were present on the occasion. The project, which will promote tourism in the area, was lauded by all and is seen as being symbolic of seamless civil - military fusion towards nation building and community empowerment. (DIPRO)
