ITANAGAR, Oct 20: Members of the Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society (APWWS) met the family members of missing mountaineers Tapi Mra and Niku Dao in Itanagar recently. 
Mra’s sister Yatok Mra Nilo briefed the APWWS members about the search and rescue operation carried out in search of her brother and Niku Dao. 
She expressed dissatisfaction at the search and rescue operation and called it half hearted effort by the district administration of East Kameng. 
She said that her family have not given up hope and will try to find them or their bodies once the snow cover lessens.
"My brother brought glory to the state and it is time for the state to remember his achievements," she said adding that the government should look after the welfare of the families without them having to beg. 
The team also heard from Mra’s aged mother and wife. Later, the team met Niku Dao’s extended family members and members of Puroik Women’s welfare society (PWWS) at Puroik village, Papu Nallah near Itanagar. Omem Halley of PWWS informed the APPWS team that Dao, an orphan was the sole earner for the family. 
They also said that family should be given necessary help by the state government. 
APWWS president Kani Nada Maling while extending solidarity with the grieving family members said that society will extend all the support to the families.
