ITANAGAR, Jun 6:The Arunachal Pradesh Union of Working Journalists has expressed concern by the timing and nature of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raids on the homes of NDTV's promoters on June 5 last.
As a journalistic organization, we do not question the legality or the legitimacy of the raids as such but cannot stand by quietly, especially considering the fact that the channel in question has been highly critical of the present discourse dominating public space.
While we pray that the law takes its course, we also hope that the investigating agencies act with equal zeal to bring to book industrialists who have been accused of financial malpractices, including those who have committed crimes and vacationing in foreign countries, the APUWJ said in a release.
